Female dead after motorcycle, car collide in Downsview

A female motorcyclist is dead and a male rider is in life-threatening condition after a car collided with a motorcycle in Downsview overnight Thursday, Toronto paramedics say.
.
Here's the sad story:
Emergency crews were called to Wilson Avenue, between Murray Road and Dubray Avenue, just before midnight, for a report of a male and female who were thrown from the motorcycle they were riding after it struck a car. The female motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene, while the male motorcyclist was taken to a hospital trauma centre with life-threatening injuries, paramedics said. The male driver of the car involved was also taken to hospital with less serious injuries. Toronto police closed Wilson Avenue for cleanup and an investigation, forcing the TTC’s 96 Wilson, 165 Weston Road and 120 Calvington buses to divert.

The top 5 Giorgio Mammoliti controversies

In May 1999, back when Giorgio Mammoliti was just "George," the councillor for North York--Humber was vehemently opposed to the idea of officially allowing a clothing optional beach at Hanlan's Point, fearing it would lead to rampant public nudity in Toronto. "Today it's a secluded beach, tomorrow it will be the beachfront and then it will be the streets," he said. City council approved the idea 41-9, but Mammoliti refused to let the vote pass without a spectacle. "After removing his shirt and tie, Mammoliti briefly posed half-naked for television crews before the air-conditioning prompted him to slip a jacket over his bare, hairy chest," the Toronto Star reported. "Mammoliti declined to remove his pants." Sources / More info:  The top 5 Giorgio Mammoliti controversies
